Osteopath & Physiotherapist — Florence
English-speaking osteopath and physiotherapist in Florence
I treat musculoskeletal pain with an integrated approach that looks for the real cause, not just the symptom — back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, sciatica, sports injuries and more. Consultations in English and Italian, in two locations across the city.

How I work
Osteopathy and physiotherapy, together
I trained as a physiotherapist and then completed a six-year Master of Science in Osteopathy in Milan. I use both: hands-on manual treatment to ease pain and restore movement, and targeted rehabilitation exercise so the result lasts.
The first session is a full assessment. I listen to your history, watch how you move, and look at the whole body — not only the painful spot. Then we decide together what makes sense for you.
Where I practise
Two locations in Florence
Pick whichever side of the city is easier for you — both by appointment.
Centro Medico Symcro
Via Vittorio Gui, 3
50144 Florence
West of the historic centre, by the Cascine park. About 10 minutes on tram T1 from Santa Maria Novella station (stop: Cascine / Paolo Uccello), or a 20-minute walk from the centre. Street parking nearby.
Spazio 99
Via della Rondinella, 66/1
50135 Florence
East side of the city, in the Coverciano area. Bus 6 or 10 from the centre, or a short taxi ride. Convenient if you are staying near Campo di Marte, Bellariva or Sant’Ambrogio.
I also practise in Figline Valdarno (Istituto Santa Caterina, Viale Antonio Gramsci 15), about 30 minutes south of Florence by train — useful if you are staying in the Valdarno or Chianti area.
About
Dr. Federico Piazza
“The only way to treat the symptom is to understand where it really comes from.”
I am an osteopath and physiotherapist based in Florence. After my degree in Physiotherapy I spent six years at the Istituto Superiore di Osteopatia in Milan, earning a Master of Science in Osteopathy. I have been in practice since 2012.
I work with adults, older adults, athletes and people in pregnancy — Italians and, increasingly, the international community living in or passing through Florence.

Do you speak English?
Yes. I hold consultations in English and Italian. Most of my international patients are students, researchers, remote workers and visitors staying in Florence.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No. You can book directly. If during the assessment I find something that needs medical imaging or a specialist, I will tell you and point you in the right direction.
Can I get an invoice for my insurance?
Yes. You receive a regular invoice for the session, which you can keep for your records and submit to your own health insurance for reimbursement.
How do I book?
Message me on WhatsApp (+39 331 254 9228). Tell me briefly what is going on and which side of the city is easier for you, and I will offer you a time.
How much does a session cost?
Fees depend on the treatment and the length of the session, so I don’t list a fixed price online. Ask me on WhatsApp when you book and I will tell you the cost for your situation beforehand.
I’m only in Florence for a few days — can you see me?
Often yes, depending on availability. Message me as early as you can. A single session can already give meaningful relief for an acute episode, and I will send you a few exercises to keep things settled while you travel.
Is “osteopathy” the same as in my country?
In Europe an osteopath is a manual-therapy specialist, not a physician (unlike a DO in the United States). I am also a physiotherapist, so I combine hands-on treatment with rehabilitation exercise.
